We will utilise the session to invite ICSC members in addition to the Cabinet Office key participants and work through a practitioner researcher model, drawing out the aims, objectives and research approach.

The International Centre for the Study of Coaching (ICSC) has met twice this year: its launch event with Professor Michael Cavenaugh and a practitioner research workshop with masters students from the Metanoia Institute. In the spirit of exploring the full range of what practitioner research has to offer in this session we will work through a 'live' action research project

The Public Sector Mentoring Scheme is a joint project between Middlesex University and FDA, a professional association that represents the UK’s senior public servants, in which 60 recent fast stream entrants onto public sector graduate management programmes will be trained and act as mentors to 60 undergraduate mentees from Middlesex. This unique initiative has the backing of The Cabinet Office and will be launched on this day with Professor David Clutterbuck, the external consultant to the scheme, providing the keynote speech. ICSC members will have the opportunity to learn more about the background, aims and objectives of this scheme and to participate in focus groups in the afternoon alongside scheme participants.
