As part of London Media Skills Week, Middlesex University is hosting two free taster sessions in directing and researching for factual programmes.

As part of London Media Skills Week, Middlesex University is hosting two free taster sessions.

The free sessions on offer during London Media Skills Week give an insight into some of short courses currently available as part of Skillset’s Build your own MA programme – a series of flexible, professional development short courses which can lead towards a MA in Professional Media Practice qualification. 

To be eligible to book a place, you must have two or more years’ experience in the creative and media industries. Once you’ve enjoyed your taster, you’ll be able to book your place on the full length courses which will be starting in January and February 2012. 

Middlesex taster sessions:

Shooting Director
Develop your experience in directing or TV camera operating.
Aimed specifically at researchers, producers and assistant producers.
Location: Middlesex University
Time: 5:30 – 7:30pm
Further information: Sessions are free, but you must book your place. Speakers are Roddy Gibson and Tom McGorrian.

Research a Factual Production
Increase your knowledge and skills around research practice for factual programmes.
Location: Middlesex University
Time: 5:30 – 7:30pm
Further information: This session is free to attend, but you must book your place. Speakers are Roddy Gibson and Tom McGorrian.

There will also be the opportunity to enjoy a guided tour of the newly opened state-of-the-art studio facilities in Middlesex’s £80m Art, Design and Media building.
