Lecturer in Graphic Design, Andy Vella will discuss his work at an upcoming talk at The British Library.

Vella, whose well-known work with The Cure was recently featured in his book Obscure, will join a panel discussion looking at 'gothic' album cover design.

It's a rare chance to hear from three of the world's most talented and prolific graphic artists, sharing a platform for the first time to discuss their work on album covers. Joining Vella are Dave McKean, who has created sleeves for bands such as Fear Factory and Front Line Assembly, and Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil designer Vaughan Oliver.

The British Library has an enormous collection of sound recordings, including 240,000 vinyl LPs. Despite the advent of digital recording these vinyl discs and their equally fascinating covers retain the power to inspire those in the creative industries, from artists to film-makers, musicians and graphic designers.

Attendance is free, and all are welcome. Visit the British Library website for more information and to book tickets.
