Alex Mann, London Regional Officer for the Musicians' Union, gives a lecture entitled 'The MU, the Music Industry, and You'.

Having begun his career in music as an artist manager, press officer and venue promoter, in 2000 Alex relocated to London to help set up and run an independent label, Tall Poppy Records.

In 2003 he moved to Arts Council England, where he worked as an Assistant Policy Officer in Cultural Diversity and Disability, and in 2006 he joined the MU.

In his role as London Regional Officer, Alex provides support to MU members in many aspects of their working lives as musicians and artists, as well as advising on employment, legal and copyright issues. He also runs music industry seminars and events for members across London.

Our weekly Concerts and Colloquia series brings high-calibre guest speakers and performers from across music to Middlesex.

Hosted by the Music department, all events are free and will be followed by refreshments. Guests can simply turn up, tickets are not required. If you have any questions please contact Nick Nikeforou.
