Although Charles Darwin suggested a deep relationship between music and language in evolution, it is only in the recent history of psychology that this theme has become the object of intense investigation.
To this day, very little is known about how language and music interact developmentally in infancy.
In this talk I will propose a general framework to study the relationship of language and music in infancy, and I will present preliminary results from Musilanguage in the Cradle – a research programme aiming to investigate different aspects of this relationship.
