Gasworks, 155 Vauxhall St, London SE11 5RH
Taking both its inspiration and its title from Robert Smithson’s 1967 work, this culturally diverse group seeks dialogues and processes that embroider a small space with big conversations and new translations.
From the planning stages to the final display, the show investigates language as both intellectual system and a ‘thing’ to be read. Through their experiments with a variety of different materials and forms, the artists reconfigure and repurpose language as both material and communication.
The non-profit contemporary visual art organisation Gasworks works at the intersection between UK and international practices and debates. Artists from the MA Fine Art course will exhibit their work as part of the Gasworks participation programme and to reflect this ethos in cross-cultural work.
