Halls of residence
We have four halls situated near our north London campus. These range in character from older traditional style halls with study bedrooms and shared facilities, to modern en-suite rooms in specially constructed apartments. Contracts are normally 40 weeks long starting from 23 September - 30 June and rent is different for each hall.
Code of Practice
Our halls are managed by our partners, Viridian Housing, a housing association which specialises in the delivery of student accommodation. We have signed up to the Universities UK Code of Practice for Ivy Hall. The code outlines best practice and provides benchmarks for the management and quality of student housing in the higher education sector.
Viridian are affiliated to The Accreditation Network UK (ANUK) and have signed up to the national code of standards for larger developments for Writtle House, Platt Hall and Usher Hall.
In partnership with Viridian we are able to provide a friendly, safe student focused environment which is responsive to your needs.
Allocation
At Middlesex, we prioritise first year students who have made us their first choice university, and who are
travelling the furthest distance to join us. Under this system, priority goes to full year international students (from outside the EU). After this we try to accommodate UK and EU students who are based furthest away. Applicants living within the M25 can make an application however it will not be looked at until the middle of September.
As part of our commitment to improving services and enhancing the experience of our students we undertake an annual exit survey of all hall residents. The results of this survey help us plan services and communications for the following year. A summary of the feedback is available for you to download here. In partnership with Viridian we are able to provide a friendly, safe student focused environment which is responsive to your needs.
