London: Trent Park - facilities and study
Our tube links mean you can be in central London in forty minutes, but on campus you will enjoy space and natural beauty unparalleled at any other London university. Set amongst a picturesque landscape of lakes, woods and country walks, Trent Park is a vibrant, lively and inspiring place to study. An historic mansion is the focus of the campus.
Subject focus
Middlesex University’s dance, drama and performing arts, English language and literature, media, culture and communication, television production, creative writing, music, theatre arts and translation studies, philosophy, product design, teaching and education courses are all based at Trent Park. The art, design and media courses are due to move to our Hendon campus in 2011.
Learning facilities
The campus is one of the largest university centres for dance and drama in the UK. It boasts facilities including rehearsal studios and performance spaces, product design workshops, language labs, PC and Mac labs, extensive learning facilities, fully equipped television studio and Final Cut Pro editing suite. Considerable investment by the University ensures that these facilities are rated highly by current students and are kept up to date with the latest industry developments.
Life on campus
By taking out a membership, students gain access to dance studios, gymnasium, sports hall, fitness room, outdoor swimming pool (open July and August), tennis courts and extensive playing fields. Group activities organised include yoga, circuits, parkour and archery.
Trent Park hosts an eclectic mix of themed events including 80s nights, Rocky Horror Show nights, school discos, quiz nights and open mic comedy sessions. In addition, our performing arts students have the opportunity to perform in the Students’ Union.
There are two cafes and one bar on campus. In addition the Students' Union shop stocks a range of snacks, drinks and sandwiches, as well as providing an extensive range of stationery and related items.
Our teaching resources shop stocks educational toys and kits, a range of art materials, general stationery and design and technology materials for students on the product design programmes. We also have a dedicated shop selling recommended texts for courses.
There are two halls of residence within the campus grounds.
Local area
Southgate High Street, with its shops, pubs, restaurants, sports facilities and Enfield Town, with its historic market, busy shopping centre and other amenities are a short bus ride away.
