We have over 30 sports teams at Middlesex competing in a range of student leagues and competitions. Some of our sports teams have achieved success at regional and national competitions, with a number of our students having represented Great Britain in international competitions, such as the World Student Games and even the Olympics.
All students are welcome to come along and try out for a team, with trials taking place in the first two weeks of term, just after Freshers. Even if you're not selected for a team, you can still take part by joining in our Move IT activities or Give it a Go leagues.
For a full list of sports teams and training times visit our student pages on unihub or pick up a timetable from the Sports Office in MDX House. For more information on joining a University sports team, contact the Sports Office on +44 (0) 20 8411 4651.
Our Move IT sessions are perfect for trying out something new as they are specifically aimed at students wanting to try a new sport; or those that haven't been involved in sports activities for a while and are looking to get started.Perhaps fencing sounds interesting, or maybe Muay Thai Boxing takes your fancy; whatever it is, you can be sure to find an activity that suits you.
Give it a Go is a programme of sports courses suitable for beginners. Courses take place from 6 to 10 weeks (depending on the sport) with participants being introduced to the sport, and learning the basics, and receiving coaching to enable progression towards intermediate proficiency. Sessions generally take place once per week. Price is £20 per activity.
