Middlesex University is delighted to have been selected as one of the UK institutions to participate in the Brazilian Scientific Mobility (Ciência sem Fronteiras - Reino Unido) programme, a Brazilian Government scholarship scheme designed to bring up to 10,000 Brazilian students to the UK over four years.
The scheme is administered by CAPES and CNPq on behalf of the Brazilian government, and supported in the UK by Universities UK. The scheme allows successful candidates to receive a scholarship to study with us for one year, either as an undergraduate or PhD student. Interested students need to have already applied for, and been awarded, a scholarship from Brazilian Scientific Mobility Programme in Brazil. Further information on how to apply is available on their website.
The scholarship covers your tuition fees, a three-month industrial placement or supervised research project, accommodation in a self-catering hall of residence, an International Orientation scheme including airport pick up, social events and ongoing international student support. You'll also receive a stipend from the Brazilian government that covers your living expenses and travel to and from London.
If you do not meet the minimum English language level required for the UKBA Tier 4 (general) student visa you may be eligible to receive further funding for pre-sessional English courses (PSE) of up to three months.
We also have places on PhD programmes under the Brazilian Scientific Mobility Programme. Students can take one year of their PhD with us then transfer back to their university in Brazil, or they can complete the whole PhD at Middlesex University.
