Top animation students from Middlesex University will be among an elite group of global animators taking part in a prestigious international film festival.
Students on the BA Animation course will be making the trip to the Holland Animation Film Festival to show off their short films in a special exhibition in the Dutch city of Utrecht – a city in the running to be European City of Culture in 2018.
The Middlesex students will be in good company as the festival attracts some of the biggest names from the world of animation.
The students were invited to the festival following a successful year which included student Clive Shaw picking up an award from the website Shooting People for his short film Girls and Boys, in a competition judged by Simpsons creator Matt Groening.
Middlesex University course leader for BA Animation Jonathan Hodgson said: "This is a real honour and sign of the high regard in which our animation programme is held by an international animation festival. I am looking forward to an international audience see the high standard of work our students have produced."
Students at Middlesex have been benefiting from an £80m investment into creative courses at the university, with the opening in October of its brand new centre for art, design and media which includes state-of-the-art animation studios.
