Middlesex University is calling for local residents to join staff and students to take part in its fun run and health walk on Wednesday 23 May at Trent Park, in aid of north London charity Noah's Ark Children's Hospice.
Participants can either take up the challenge of a 5km run or a more leisurely 3km guided walk around the picturesque grounds of Trent Park. The annual event starts at 6.30pm and all entrants will receive a free goody bag and event t-shirt. There will also be a variety of prizes are on offer on the day, including the fastest times in different age groups and best fancy dress.
The Middlesex University fun run and health walk has raised significant funds for worthwhile causes over the years. This year’s event will be donated to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, a children's hospice service, providing practical and emotional support to life-limited and life-threatened children and their families, within the communities of North London
Mel Parker, Head of Sport & Recreation at Middlesex University, said: “The 5km run and 3km walk has become an annual fixture for students, staff and local people. It’s always fun and is a great way to keep fit, take in the beautiful surroundings and raising money for a very valuable local service all at the same time.
I also look forward to seeing this year’s creative fancy dress costumes. Last year’s top prize was awarded to a Middlesex student who dressed as a jockey, complete with inflatable horse!”
Interested parties can book their place by downloading an application form from www.mdx.ac.uk/sport/events or online.
Booking before the end of 18 May will qualify entrants to a lower priced entrant fee. Participants can also turn up on the day and pay.
