Illustration students win Punk London design competition

The second year students' work will be appearing in Time Out and used in Punk London’s digital and print advertising campaigns

Punk London 2016 festival Three Illustration students have won an exciting competition run by the Association Of Illustrators (AOI) to design artwork for Punk London, a festival celebrating 40 years of punk heritage in London.

The challenge sparked the creativity of students Molly Howard-Foster, Henry Mata and Shazleen Khan who were selected from four competition winners.

They will now design a poster to advertise the festival in Time Out magazine and promote upcoming Punk London events - both in print and online.

The influential AOI approached a select group of universities, including Middlesex, and invited students to take part in the poster competition.

Punk London is a year of events, gigs, films, talks and exhibitions taking place across the capital in 2016 to commemorate 40 years of punk’s ongoing influence on music and design.

Nancy Slonims, Programme Leader for BA Illustration, said: “BA Illustration were delighted to be invited to participate in this exciting project by Derek Brazell, Projects Manager of the AOI.”
