London Sport Institute research
The London Sport Institute is a research-friendly environment aiming to produce high-quality research with an applied focus. The Institute has strong collaborative links with other Schools in the University and with a variety of partners at local, regional, national and international levels.
The main research themes of our Institute include:
- Psychological factors affecting participation and performance in extreme sport
- Clinical reasoning development in undergraduate students using a problem based learning approach
- Human movement and the underlying mechanical, neural, and physiological mechanisms
- Gait Analyses& Performance analyses
- Strength and Conditioning for Combat Athletes, investigating the assessment and development of striking power in combat sports
- The female athlete triad, oral-based diagnostics, and the immune response to physical and psychological stress
- The effects of respiratory muscle training and warm-up upon intermittent exercise performance
