CapHaz-Net: social capacity building for natural hazards toward more resilient communities
CapHaz-Net focuses on the social dimensions of natural hazards as well as on regional practices of risk prevention and management. The project aims at improving resilience of European societies to natural hazards and suggests ways of how to achieve this, paying particular attention to social capacities and how they are influenced by contextual conditions. The project is the first primarily social-science project on natural hazards funded by the European Commission and is developing a growing network of individuals, academics, stakeholders and practitioners who share a common interest in the social dimensions of natural hazards.
FHRC is contributing to most project work packages but is work package leader for WP4 on Social Vulnerability.
