In existence for twenty five years, CEEDR is a leading academic research centre specialising in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), regional and local economic development, social enterprise and labour market analysis.
Our research
We have an established reputation for the high quality, independence and impact of our research work. CEEDR’s research team have a proven track record of expertise, academic publication, scholarship and applied policy research in the areas of:
- SME Growth, Finance and Development
- Social Enterprise
- Local/Regional Economic Development and Regeneration
- Employment, Skills and Quality of Work
Our activities are funded by grant-based research from bodies such as the Economic and Social Research Council and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, and contract research commissioned by clients that include national government departments (BIS, CLG, DWP), international organisations and a range of local and regional bodies.
In delivering contract research we work closely with our clients to produce rigorous research outputs to meet their research needs. We offer a wide range of consultancy research services from policy and strategic evaluations, evidence base reviews through to primary and secondary data collection, analysis and action research.
As a vibrant research centre within Middlesex University’s Business School, CEEDR includes a number of doctoral research students.
