Our people

Meet the people who make a contribution to community on Middlesex campuses around the world

We achieve our dreams together

We're a community of students, staff, alumni and partners who help each other to pursue our dreams and ambitions. Together we take our university forward and make outstanding contributions to the world around us.

How we're run

We are overseen by a Board of Governors and managed by the University Executive who are dedicated to the development of our staff, the learning of our students and our overall growth.

Our Interim Vice-Chancellor Professor Sean Wellington is responsible for leading the University and ensuring we deliver on our strategy.

Our Chancellor is Dame Janet Ritterman who acts as a ceremonial figure-head of the University.

We have an Academic Board, chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, that works to sustain our excellent standard of teaching and research.

Our commitment to gender equality

We have been awarded a Bronze Award by the Athena Swan Charter, which recognises that the University has a solid foundation for eliminating gender bias and developing an inclusive culture that values all staff.

Athena Swan is a framework used across the globe to support and transform gender equality within all areas of higher education (HE) and research, and the Award is held in high esteem across the sector. The Athena Swan internal Self-Assessment Team undertook a rigorous self-assessment of data, both qualitative and quantitative, to assess MDX’s gender equality across its staff community. From this insight, the team developed a set of short, medium and longer term actions to help further drive forward gender equality and representation across the University, including gender non-conforming individuals.
