Venetia is one of a team of clinical links with Whittington Health; she also chairs the Institute of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work CPD SteeringGroup, which comprises NHS Trust Commissioning Leads, senior academic and administrative staff in the Institute involved in commissioning, development, delivery and monitoring of healthcare CPD provision.
Venetia is a very experienced Director of Programmes (Nursing). Her current responsibilities include leading healthcare CPD, child health, undergraduate research and dissertation provision. She is also Programme Leader for the BSc Nursing Studies, a 'top up' degree based on the principles of pre-accreditation, recognition of prior learning and programme planning to meet professional development objectives.
Her primary expertise is in healthcare continuing personal and professional development; student experience; curriculum development and planning to meet the needs of healthcare CPD students, and impact of CPD on professional practice (the subject of her Doctoral Studies). Other interests include women's health/ reproductive health in acute and primary care, practice development and professional boundaries in health care, and dissertation support.
In addition to her professional and academic qualifications, Venetia is also a University Teaching Fellow. She is currently engaged in Doctoral Studies.
Venetia's key research interests are in curriculum development and leadership in healthcare education; enhancing CPD student experience; the impact of healthcare CPD on practice and teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of CPD students.

Venetia chairs the School of Health and Education Validation and Approvals Committee which scrutinises and approves programme and module changes as well as approving new modules. Members of the Committee also support programme teams in the development of documentation needed for new programmes or those due for review.
