Leoni graduated from Middlesex University in 2012 with a BA Honours Degree in Graphic Design, and then in 2013 completed the MSc Psychology (Conversion). Leoni’s research conducted at Master's level focused on student attitudes towards help seeking and counselling, with a mixed methodological approach. Leoni since worked and volunteered for a vast range of mental health and healthcare services in London and currently works one day per week as an Honorary Assistant Psychologist at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, for IAPT services.
Leoni is employed in the Department of Psychology as a Graduate Academic Assistant since 2015 and has achieved the status of Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She took the lead role in organising the Department of Psychology's contribututions to Mental Health Awareness Week 2017 and has additionally taught and assisted on two of our summer school programs. In 2016 Leoni was also a research assistant for the Centre for Abuse and Trauma Studies, within the Psychology Research Groups at Middlesex University. Leoni won a Pay Contribution Award in February 2018 in recognition of her hard work for the previous academic year and she was nominated in March 2018 for the One Middlesex Staff Award for an outstanding contribution to putting students first.
Leoni’s fields of interest are Clinical & Counselling Psychology. Leoni is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society, a member of the Division of Clinical Psychology, Pre-Qualification group and a member of the Psychologists for Social Change group.
