Anthony Campbell is the Programme Leader of the BA (hons) Fashion Textiles degree and has been at MDX since 2010. In 2014 he redesigned and validated the current Fashion Textiles programme, designed closely with industry to respond and reflect the changing nature of textiles within fashion.
Anthony prides himself on his ongoing relationship and involvement with the wider fashion industry, allowing him to introduce numerous high profile professionals to teach, inspire and engage his students at Middlesex.
Originally from Scotland where he studied at world-renowned Glasgow School of Art achieving and award winning First class honours Degree in Textile Design. Being one of the first recipients of the Dewar Arts Award enabled Anthony to move London to study an MA in Fashion at Central Saint Martins under the tutelage of Louise Wilson OBE.
Anthony’s career in Fashion has seen him work across a range of disciplines from menswear at Belstaff , over 7 years with London Fashion Week designer Richard Nicoll on accessories and womenswear, to designing Prints for ASOS.com.
In 2010 he worked closely with internationally respected artist Linder Sterling as costume director of ‘The Forgetful Green’ shown at the Glasgow International Arts festival and at The Chissenhale in London supported by The Arts Council England.
The culmination of this project resulted in a short film produced in association with FRIEZE FILM and Channel 4 ‘s 3 minute wonder series, shot and directed by Tim Walker.
