Anthony Cullen, B.A., M.A., LL.M., Ph.D., F.H.E.A. is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the School of Law, Middlesex University, London. Prior to taking up this position, he was a Research Fellow at the School of Law, University of Leeds (2011-2013) and a Research Fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law, University of Cambridge (2007-2011). His research interests focus mainly on international humanitarian law, international human rights law and the development of foreign policy in these areas.
He was previously employed on the joint Customary International Humanitarian Law Project of the British Red Cross and International Committee of the Red Cross. He also served for a period in the Human Rights Unit of the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs during Ireland's presidency of the European Union. His publications include The Concept of Non-International Armed Conflict in International Humanitarian Law.
