My main interests are in the area of medical instrumentation, data analytics, design and development of innovative solutions for biomedical monitoring and diagnosis.
I was previously a Marie Curie Research Fellow with Aston University (Birmingham). I worked on the development of a system dedicated to post-operative orthopaedic patients monitoring based on wireless recording of real-time vital signs and analytical algorithms capable of providing guidance to clinicians of early signs of deterioration. I also participated in other projects as post-doc in LIAAD/INESC TEC (University of Porto, Portugal) in the area of time series analysis/forecasting, machine learning and pattern analysis for decision support.
