Adam joined Middlesex University in September 2019, teaching on the Think Ahead MA Social Work progamme. Adam provides field-based teaching across the North-East and Yorkshire, as well as in Hendon during the Summer Institute and London-based teaching days. He is also acting as Practice Assessor for candidates undertaking Practice Education qualifications.
Adam has extensive practice experience in social work with people with addictions, adults with learning disabilities, and autism spectrum conditions. He has experience managing an Integrated Care team working with older people, and working-age adults with physical disabilities. Adam is also an experienced Practice Educator and Best Interests Assessor.
Prior to joining Middlesex, Adam was the Advanced Practitioner for a learning disabilities team, leading on quality assurance, practice development, court work, and managed a supported employment project. Adam was also operational lead for a digital innovation project, developing a web-based tool to enhance social worker-service user interaction.
Qualifications:
Adam's teaching interests include social work with people with autism spectrum conditions, safeguarding adults, mental capacity, and the use of digital technology in social work practice.
