Danny Holmes MSc, BSc, is the Programme Leader for the BSc Top-Up in Football Science and Lecturer in Sport Psychology at Middlesex University. Danny joined the University in 2017 and teaches across the Sport Science and Football Science Degree pathways.
Previous to this role, Danny has predominantly worked in professional football, holding positions with Fulham FC and most recently Sunderland AFC. Danny has also consulted within elite Tennis, Rowing, American Football, Basketball and Golf.
Outside of sport, Danny has delivered workshops in performance or organisational capacities with both Coca-Cola and Mondelēz, and was the Sport Psychology consultant on the Adidas Body Care 2014 World Cup advertising campaign.
Within academia, Danny previously held an associate lecturer position at Brunel University and was a guest lecturer at Derby University.
Danny continues to consult with individuals and organisations within elite sport and business.

Learning & Teaching Interests
Danny leads a module in Applied Sport Psychology in Year 2 of the Sport Science programmes. He is also the leader for a Football Science BSc Top-Up module in Advanced Football Science.
Danny also teaches on modules across all three years of study on the Sport Science pathways, and supervises dissertation students conducting projects in the area of Sport & Exercise Psychology.

Danny currently has research interests in Applied Sport Psychology, Skilled Performance Under Pressure and Mental Health in Elite Football.
