Maria Jimenez-Andres joined Middlesex in 2013 and has taught a variety of modules in Tourism and Translation and Interpreting programmes. She has also worked as a predoctoral researcher at in the Department of Translation, Interpreting and East Asian Studies at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Over the past years, she has taught Spanish to Arabic speakers at Eton Institute in the United Arab Emirates, as well as English as a Foreign Language at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. As a translator and interpreter, María has engaged in various roles institutions such as the Bolivarian Embassy of Venezuela in the United Kingdom and Ipsos Mori. She is active in outreach and has carried out a number of projects with NGOs working with refugee and migrant communities in Europe.
María holds a PhD in Translation and Intercultural Studies from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2022), MA in Higher Education (Middlesex Universitity) and BA in Translation and Intepreting (Universitat d’Alacant).
