I have a BSc in Psychology from the University of East London, an MSc in Interactive Multimedia from the University of Westminster, and an MSc and PhD in Investigative Psychology from the University of Liverpool.
I worked in UK policing for over a decade in the roles of regional intelligence analyst, major crime researcher, custody investigator, improvement and evaluations officer, improvement and evaluations coordinator, and change and improvement officer. And before then, I was a uniformed police community support officer in London.
The reason why I keep wanting to make relevant research reach the right people in policing is because there is an awful lot of great research being done and published, but then only read by other academics. This just doesn't make sense to me, and so I started turning research into videos, as every officer can make time to watch a short video, but they might not be able to access and digest a research paper.
I set up https://www.PoliceScienceDr.com to create a broad range of research-based videos and the plan is for a global communication platform for researchers and practitioners as well as a collection of police-relevant courses, all in one place. I happen to have the desire to make research accessible and I skilled myself up to be able to create online courses and interactive videos, so now I want to help the policing community with these assets.
