Mita is a Lecturer in Digital Media, teaching across a range of levels, from foundation to taught Masters.
Prior to joing Middlesex in 2018, she had worked at Edge Hill University, The One Academy of Communication Design in Malaysia, and the University of Hertfordshire. Mita has a PhD in Media from Edge Hill University, funded by the university's GTA scheme. A Masters in Film Studies from the Universiteit van Amsterdam, and a BA Hons degree in Film, Television, and Radio Studies from Staffordshire University. She also has a Postgraduate Certificate in Continuing Education from the University of Nottingham.
Mita is a member of the Media, Communication, and Cultural Studies Association (MeCCSA) She is Chair of the MeCCSA Race, Ethnicity and Postcolonial Network. Further to this, Mita is a member of European Association of South Asian Studies and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
