Before joining Middlesex University in 2019, I did a PhD in Forensic Psychiatry at the University of Utrecht. I have also worked as a researcher at the Prison Psychiatric Unit Amsterdam and the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement.
My main research areas are violent behavior in people with psychotic disorders and the neurobiology of violence.
I am the module leader for CRM4207 Research Strategies in Criminology and Psychology and CRM4203 Psychological Interventions and Responses to Offending. I also teach in the modules SOC2500 Approaches to Research in the Social Sciences and CRM2500 Criminology in Late Modernity, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
