Toby is a writer, director and performer. After training with The National Youth Theatre and QE Theatre Academy, he studied BA Theatre Arts at Middlesex University. After graduating in 2020 he joined the staff team as a Graduate Academic Assistant. His practice is currently focused on writing new works for the stage, His playwriting has been chosen as part of the winning selections of plays for The ACT II Festival 2019, the 2017 and 2018 TYPify Festivals and the TYPe It Up Scriptwriting Competition 2017. He was long-listed in 2016 for The Papatango Playwriting Award, and he has written or contributed to pieces which have been performed across the UK at venues including Theatre503, The Arcola, The Greenhouse and The Ravensfield Theatre. As a director, dramaturg and actor, he has worked with organisations including ArtsDepot, Ekumen Collective, Exeter Phoenix, The Common Players, The Space, The New Wolsey, and Omnibus Theatres. He is the artistic director of FiftySixty and a member of Pursued by a Dragon Theatre Company.
