I graduated in Architecture at Politecnico di Milano and completed a European PhD in Interior Architecture and Exhibition Design at Politecnico di Milano.
The research attitude is the link between my academic and professional life, activities that I have always considered to be complementary.
My interest is focused on scale, ability to build (not only) physical connections in between spaces, people and objects, underlining emerging behaviours and strategies. Both my academic and professional experiences are concentrated on adaptive re-use, hospitality (temporary and residential) and retail strategy and design. I'm interesting in an educational model able to merge practice and education on a more flexible curriculum.
I¹ve been collaborating with the Politecnico di Milano since 1998 through different tasks as researcher, supervisor and professor assistant.
I have been invited to organise workshops and have been teaching on masters degrees and postgraduate programmes both in Italy and abroad. I have also been an active part of the academic team with organisation and networking tasks both locally and internationally.
Since 2005 I've been appointed as Adjunct Professor at the School of Design, Politecnico di Milano, teaching Interior Design and Product Service System Design. This activity led me to be leader of the Design Studio both in undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
I have always been involved in international networks with a strong attitude in building collaboration opportunities, being persuaded that good research output needs a strong international background which connects universities, research institutes and industry.
I am a member of the Ordine degli Architetti since 1998 and in the last 10 years I have founded two architecture office structures, Studiometrico (until 2011) and LaboMint.
LaboMint deals with interiors strategies, providing ideas and solutions to private and corporate identities; a design lab where interior is a way of thinking and research is the connection between projects. Design is intended as a process able to generate places, both in new constructions and refurbishments, objects, products or settings. It can also be applied in writings and strategies, that are able to suggest ideas and solutions through the client's brief, or to suggest opportunities that could be accomplished in the future.
I have been invited to present our work in various universities and our design has been published on many architecture blogs and in numerous international books and magazines.
The "bastard store" project has been published in various books and received the ArchDaily Building of the Year 2009 Award in the Interior category and was nominated for the Architecture Golden Medal 2012 of the Triennale di Milano.
