Azizun Nessa obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of Manchester, UK, as a school of Social Science Discipline Area Scholar. Before that she obtained MPhil in Economics, a two year professional degree, from the University of Oxford, UK, as a Rhodes Scholar. She graduated with a first class honours degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Most recently, distributional justice and social enterprise development have become major interests.
