Anne has more than twenty years experience teaching fine art, film and media, with a specialism in Artists' Moving Image Practice, most recently prior to Middlesex, working at UAL: Camberwell and Chelsea. She is currently external examiner for Fine Art at University of Chester and has also been a lead moderator in Access courses for the Open College Network.

Anne is an artist-filmmaker and curator. She holds a practice-led PhD in Fine Art: The Elusive Digital Frame and the Elasticity of Time in Painting Recent projects include films: 'Wakeful' supperted by ACE and screened at CCA Glasgow and Estonian Maritime Museum, 'Thrashing in the Static' (2014) and post-production on the award-winning 'Time You Need' (2015). Art and Film curator for experimental contemporary art and music festival Supernormal.
Her most recent publication is the book: See Red: Feminist Posters, 1974-1990, publ. by Four Corners Books, 2016. She has published in: The Journal of Visual Arts Practice, The Journal of Media Practice and Sesmograf, and has an article forthcoming (2017) in The Journal of Contemporary Painting. She is a member of the Artists’ Research Group for Performance Studies International and has contributed papers to PSI in Shanghai, Stamford and Copenhagen. She also has a forthcoming in 2017 in Speaking of Practice, a publication on practice-led research in the arts from UAL.
Anne’s multidisciplinary practice is concerned with the perception and politics of time passing, working experimentally with duration, frame, exposure, paint, sound and movement. She is currently working on a film project entitled Wakeful which is due to be completed in 2018. Screenings of Thrashing in the Static (2014) include Objectifs in Singapore, Deptford X and CGP London. Inside Out Blues (2013) was made on a residency with ‘Counterproductions’ in Marseilles Capital of Culture year and has led to ongoing engagement with the ‘Inspiral’ art project including contributions to a forthcoming book. Her most recent solo show was: Vital Excess at Bank Gallery, Cass London and she was sole curator for the Over Time project, funded by Arts Council England, featuring pieces by eleven contemporary artists working on the Thames foreshore and including shows at Royal Museums Greenwich and the Stephen Lawrence Gallery.
