Angela Scollan joined Middlesex University in 2012 as Senior Lecturer in Early Childhood Studies, Education and Early Years Initial Teacher Training. She was previously a lecturer of Early Childhood Studies at Roehampton University, Director of a bespoke early years and education training company, a freelance Ofsted Inspector and EYPS Lead Assessor. Angela also taught and managed foundation degrees for six years at Carshalton College in Surrey writing programmes to support mature students aiming to access academic and professional progression.
Angela worked for several years analysing assessment literacy focusing on feedback, study skills and student voices to construct ‘bridging programmes’ to support transition into academia. Previously, Angela worked within the early years sector in a variety of early years practitioner and teaching roles where her passion for children’s rights, self-determination, emotional intelligence, outside play and reflexivity grew and were impacted upon directly during interactions with children, families and peers.
