Charlotte Thompson joined Middlesex University as a visiting lecturer in 2011 and became Lecturer in Applied Theatre and Performance in October 2012. She is a playwright and has worked as a writer, theatre practitioner and teacher in community contexts for several years. She has also spent time as a visiting lecturer at Leicester University and the University of Greenwich.
PhD in contemporary playwriting practice, Writing on the body; Alternative dramaturgies, new forms of empathy. Begun at Royal Holloway, completed with a bursary at the University of Lincoln.
MA Playwriting Studies, The University of Birmingham.
First class BA Hons, English and Drama, The University of Kent at Canterbury.
Charlotte has been teaching in educational and community contexts since 2002 and in Higher Education since January 2010.
