Shan is a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), with more than 10 years experience of working in the Charities sector as a business partner, senior financial accountant, and tax accountant.
Throughout her professional career, she worked with charities in the higher education, construction, childcare, and vocational education sectors.
Shan is currently completing her Ph.D. study at CEEDR, Middlesex University. Her research focuses on the effectiveness of Social Investment Tax Relief in helping social enterprises raise finances during the start-up stage.
