The Department of Natural Sciences in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Middlesex University delivers high quality teaching, research and consultancy across several disciplines including biomedical and healthcare sciences, biology, environmental health, environmental and public health, occupational health and safety and risk management.
The focus of the department is on the application of knowledge to practice, with that knowledge underpinned by a sound scientific philosophy and research basis. Our work approaches health and well-being from a variety of perspectives:
Middlesex University scientists have been carrying out hi-tech tests on the water supply to a new rehab centre for COVID-19 patients
BBC presenter and environmentalist Anita Rani spent a day in a Middlesex science lab with MDX staff, Leonardo Munoz and Alejandra Baez, analysing wet wipe samples, to assess their plastic content. The experiments' results now feature on the BBC series War on Plastic which started on 10 June.
The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has just welcomed Tsz Kiu Shum, known as Debby, as its newest student member.
