This course will challenge you to critically examine selected areas of Foundation Stage teaching and learning, with the aim of improving your own practice. Guided by experienced practitioners, you will examine a variety of theories and skills related to early years education, with valuable opportunities to reflect on your own practice and its impact on learners.
Through a series of workshop sessions you will explore a range of topics to support your studies, including needs analysis, legislation, curriculum, early learning goals, young children's behaviour, special needs, and equal opportunities in early childhood education. As part of this course you will also examine team approaches to early years teaching, including multi-agency work, and develop advanced skills in observation and research to further enhance your studies and practice.
Armed with these skills and contemporary insights you will not only boost your career prospects for the future but develop your current role and teaching abilities for a wide range of students.

This module is suitable those working and teaching in early years and Foundation Stage settings who have three years experience.
