This degree programme aims to enable the practising midwife to study a postgraduate degree pathway which has been planned by the student themselves and which reflects academic and professional development needs in line with the usual requirements for postgraduate level study.
The open framework structure aims to facilitate pathway specialisation where possible and if desired. Individualised degree study pathway in which credits from prior study may be used. The study pathway can be tailored to current and future learning and development needs.
At the completion of this course, you will be able to demonstrate mastery in midwifery-related skills and knowledge in order to contribute to enhanced professional midwifery practice, research and service development. The programmes is designed so that where possible, Level 7 (and some Level 6) credits which have been achieved through prior study are recognised as part of this programme (pre-accreditation or APL).
The modules can be taken at a pace and frequency according to your circumstances. You must complete two core modules:
Dissertation (MSc only)
In addition, you choose subject specific optional modules according to your personal, professional, academic and service development needs. These modules will clearly demonstrate a study pathway in midwifery.
