Our MBA is designed to prepare you for the challenges of management, exposing you to the latest thinking in business across a variety of sectors within an international context. You will engage with key management disciplines including financial and economic analysis, strategy and innovation, managing and developing people, global marketing management, operations and supply chain management, and cross-cultural management and ethics.
Fundamental to our approach is a focus on both theory and its application to practice. You will engage in activities from lectures, workshops, talks from visiting speakers alongside the opportunity to work on a field-based consulting project in addition to your final project where you can develop your consulting skills, write a business plan or engage in a more traditional academic report.
Our strong emphasis on your personal and leadership development will be supported by regular sessions to develop your skills in a wide range of areas from communication and negotiation to team-building and leadership. Some workshops will be set in place, others will be chosen by you.
As part of this course, you can do an optional three month or one year industry placement. Programmes with integrated placements give you the opportunity to apply the skills you have learned throughout your studies in a practical environment. You will be earning a full time salary and will learn skills that can't be taught in a classroom at University. During the placement, you will be able to gain further insight into industrial practice that you can take forward into your individual project and into your future career.
Although the placement is not guaranteed, the University maintains links with a wide network of organisations who offer placement opportunities. The University will also provide you with full support to help you secure a placement, from job application to the interview.
In order to qualify for the placement period you must have passed all modules in the semesters preceding the placement. The placement will take place after the taught modules and before your final dissertation/applied project.

During this course, you will study the core modules plus an online elective in addition to your final Business Transformation Project. In addition, you will have a field-based Consulting Project and are required to pass a module in Personal and Professional Development which is designed to support your leadership aspirations.
As well as competence and an a comprehensive overview of the subject, you will also gain a thorough understanding of the disciplines central to management. You will also have the skills to prepare you for taking your career to the next level.
In Term 1 and Term 3, you will study all modules on campus. However, in Term 2, you can choose between studying all three on-campus modules in the second term OR two on-campus modules plus one online elective.

This module aims provide you with the key transformation processes and related concepts/techniques both from an individual enterprise as well as a supply chain perspective. You will also cover both planning and control perspectives.
In order to navigate our complex and globalised environment, we need an understanding of the core values and norms of any organisation, the impact of policies and practices on all stakeholders and how to operate in a multi-cultural environment. This module is designed to provide you with the critical tools and mindset to analyse and identify responses to such challenges.
This module aims to develop your systematic knowledge and skills for understanding the complexity of the new digital landscape. This will focus on the use of e-marketing models, social media and e-tailing to produce a coherent digital marketing strategy.
This module will allow you to understand and apply use of data and models to aid strategic and operational decisions.

This module will integrate learning from previous modules as you work in groups to complete a project based on a real organisational or sectoral theme. The project will culminate in a final consulting-type presentation outlining recommendations.
This module allows you to further develop and integrate the skills and knowledge acquired during the course by working on a specific organisational issue or problem. You will be able to demonstrate proficiency in relation to scoping the issue(s)/problems, consideration of appropriate literature, collection and analysis of data, assessing the financial implications, including any cost/benefit analysis for justifying specific recommendations and consideration of implementation issues.
This module will build on your academic learning with the opportunity to undertake a three month period of work experience. You will be able to apply and further develop work-related knowledge, skills and capabilities as well as embed the knowledge and skills you've gained throughout the course. You will integrate work experience into your learning with the aim to maximise its impact on your development of skills, knowledge and professional practice. You will be supported in the process of reflecting on your development, integrating theory and practice, developing your commercial awareness and thus enhance your personal and professional development.
Optional modules are not offered on every course. If we have insufficient numbers of students interested in an optional module, or there are staffing changes which affect the teaching, it may not be offered. If an optional module will not run, we will advise you after the module selection period when numbers are confirmed, or at the earliest time that the programme team make the decision not to run the module, and help you choose an alternative module.

Distinctive to the MBA, your learning experience will include a mixture of formal lectures, case study discussions, guided and independent research, workshops, debates, student presentations alongside simulations and role plays. We use a variety of methods to develop your cognitive and practical skills alongside assessing your understanding of key concepts and theoretical knowledge. Group work is also used to develop your capacity for working in teams and thereby providing a realistic organisational context for you to develop your own interpersonal skills and test your own capacity for teamwork and leadership.
Assessment is coursework-based as we seek to test not only theory and its application to practice but also the depth of your understanding. You are also required to undertake a final project on a topic of your choosing which can take a number of formats from working with a host organisation to developing a business plan. Throughout each term, classes and workshops are designed to ensure you have numerous opportunities to receive formative feedback to help you progress your learning.
