First Aid at Work

This course is designed for people who want to become approved first aiders in the workplace. First Aid at Work is our most comprehensive first aid training course. The Qualsafe level 3 award (QCF) complies with the HSE 1981 first aid at work legislation.

3 days, 9:00am - 4:00 pm

  • Monday 12 - Wednesday 14 June
  • Monday 11 - Wednesday 13 September
  • Tuesday 7 - Thursday 9 November

£275 (No VAT). Upon completion you will be issued with a nationally recognised certificate, valid for three years. The course fee also includes a practice first aid pack used during the course, a first aid kit to take away and a course manual.

Course information

This 3 day course covers a wide range of highly relevant topics and you will gain an understanding on the roles and responsibilities of a first aider and be able to:

  • assess an incident
  • manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
  • manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  • recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
  • manage a casualty with external bleeding
  • manage a casualty who is in shock
  • manage a casualty with a minor injury
  • conduct a secondary survey

Learning outcomes

By the end of the courses, you will be able to administer first aid to a casualty with a range of ailments including:

  • injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • suspected head and spinal injuries
  • suspected chest injuries
  • burns and scalds
  • eye injuries
  • sudden poisoning
  • anaphylaxis
  • suspected major illness


You will be continually assessed by the course facilitator plus a practical assessment and multiple choice paper.
