A path to a career as an airline pilot

Becoming a commercial airline pilot is a big challenge and this course allows you to enhance your career opportunities from cadet right through to captain. In partnership with L3Harris Airline and Academy Training Ltd, a world leading airline training company with headquarters in Crawley, you’ll work towards a qualification based on technical and practical flying experience.

This course is designed to allow you to study towards your degree while undertaking pilot training. In your final year, the programme is fully integrated into the initial stages of your career as a commercial pilot. Incorporating Civil Aviation Authority training, by the end of the course you'll be awarded with a frozen air transport pilot's licence (ATPL(F)).

Building your theoretical and practical flying knowledge

Right from the start of the programme you'll join the L3Harris Airline and Academy Training Ltd and take on the Ground School and Flying Training. Through our blended learning approach, you’ll combine knowledge and learning to develop the skills you’ll need when you’re a commercial pilot.

Using a variety of media and online tools, you’ll have access to a host of tools and applications so you can learn through online workshops, blogs, podcasts and more.

You’ll be assessed for your theoretical knowledge in your introduction to flying and ground school, as well as practically assessed in your flying training modules.

This course is endorsed by the CAA.

Supporting your ambitions

We know sometimes you’ll need assistance and support when it comes to your studies. During your time with us you'll get assistance from a Personal Tutor. If you require a little extra help we have Student Learning Assistants and Graduate Academic Assistants on hand.

This is the perfect degree to take while you're undertaking commercial pilot training. Previous graduates have gone on to work with airlines such as EasyJet and Virgin Airlines. This degree enhances your career opportunities from your first day on the job, and gives you more confidence that you can perform in this high stress job.
