The Work and Learning Research Centre in the Department of Education partners with the UK Council for Graduate Education to convene events related to Professional and Practice-based Doctorates.

The next event is the 7th in the international conference series and will take place on the 30th and 31st March 2020 in York, UK.

Title: ‘The Role of Practice in Doctoral Degrees’

This year the focus on practice engages with practice theory, pedagogical practices in doctoral education, administrative practices and international dimensions in relation to practice doctorates. Four keynote speakers, paper presentations, round tables and expert panels engage with these issues. Special edition journal issues will follow the conference.

The conference is chaired by Professor Carol Costley, Middlesex University and co-chaired by Gill Houston, Chair of UKCGE.
