Heart’s Ease (Peter Lang) is the first book examining the music of John Tavener (1944–2013). It gives due concern to the ways in which his music has been received, with a special focus on spiritual and therapeutic contexts and interpretations. Rev. Prof. June Boyce-Tillman and contributor Dr Brian Inglis will introduce the book and its themes. Featuring performances of Tavener’s highly distinctive music by the Middlesex University choir (dir. Jonathan Rathbone) and BA/MA music students.
