Student support

We've got a support network to get you through any problems during your time at Middlesex

Support that's personal to you

We'll make sure that you have the right support when you start with us so you can make the most of your time as a student, even with the rising cost of living.

Our support services are delivered on campus and online so you have flexible ways to access what you need to do your best.

Academic support

We'll help you to develop the academic skills that you need to do well on your course.

As an undergraduate or foundation year student, you'll be matched with a Personal Tutor for regular tailored support related to your course.

You can join free one-to-one tutorials or workshops to learn academic writing and communication and maths and numeracy including statistics.

Open Days

Discover more about our range of courses and get a feel for life at Middlesex for yourself at our next Open Day.

Learning support

You’ll find Student Learning Assistants - experienced students from the years above - in some of your sessions. They have personal experience of learning your subject and understand any challenges.

You can join drop ins for support from our Graduate Academic Assistants, who also studied your subject at Middlesex, and who work alongside staff.

Library and IT support

  • Get expert advice from our helpdesk about things like searching for resources or how to use specialist software
  • Book onto training sessions and one-to-one tutorials to learn skills like referencing at an advanced level.

Difficulties with your studies

Sometimes there are things happening in your life that make studying more difficult.

Whatever your personal challenge, we have a special team to help you make progress with your course and go on to complete your degree successfully.

We do everything we can to help you afford uni, with financial awards like scholarships and bursaries that you don’t have to pay back.

We've made reductions in costs of studying and offer free laptop loans, free learning resources and discounts to save money on everyday things. Plus we have hundreds of jobs on and off campus paying above London Living Wage.

Care leavers and estranged students

Education can be a challenging experience without the support of a family network.

However, we're committed to providing support to students who are in care or estranged from their families.

Faith and religion

Our students and staff come from all over the world and we celebrate lots of different religions.

Your faith on campus

We have a prayer room on campus as well as different places of religious worship in our local area of north London.

Middlesex has different religious student societies, run by students through the Middlesex University Students' Union. These include the Christian Union society, several Islamic societies and the Jewish Society.
