Reach your full creative potential

You can take advantage of our state-of-the-art facilities that will help you develop your own creative identity and produce your best work. This includes our TV studio complex designed by Sony, Avid edit suites, a dedicated Dolby Atmos mixing studio, a motion capture and greenscreen virtual studio, and DaVinchi Resolve colour grading suites, along with many more specialist spaces.

Our fully equipped loan store, The Kit Hub, is available to you to borrow high-end production equipment during your studies. We have partnerships and alliances with many organisations in the creative industries, including production companies, manufacturers, industry professionals and industry bodies. This allows you to engage with our partners and gain a footing within the industry.

Hands on learning and collaboration

The BA Film programme is taught almost exclusively on campus in our studios, labs and classrooms. A small number of sessions are taught online to supplement the on-campus practice-focused tuition and to allow for flexibility in accommodating different learning approaches, personal commitments, engagement with online resources, as well as fully reflecting the rapidly changing requirements of the industry. Tutorials and individual meetings can also be held virtually if preferred.

  • Innovative teaching from industry practitioners and academics

Whilst studying you will be exposed to a range of roles in Film and TV and our expert staff will support you in your areas of interest. Our faculty includes both practicing professionals and research-active academics. This combination allows for a dynamic blend of theoretical and practical learning, and many of our instructors are award winning directors, producers and industry experts who specialize in teaching various production techniques.

You will also learn from industry speakers and guest lecturers, ranging from directors, producers and broadcasters at C4, the BBC, ITV and in the independent sector, to writers and filmmakers across cinema, corporate and arts-based filmmaking. Most recently, we’ve had documentary filmmaker Marc Isaacs come speak to our students about his films, and Jonah Coombes talk about his work as location manager for Paddington, The Social Network and An Education.

  • Support for your successful career in Film and TV

    • Take part in independent production company visits, field trips, work placements and shadowing programmes, and client led commissions.
    • At the end of the academic year, we organize screenings at prestigious venues like the BFI, as well as other London cinemas. Such events provide valuable exposure for your work and give you the chance to connect with industry professionals.
    • You'll have opportunities to participate in UK and international film festivals.
    • Get support from us for your award entries into national industry competitions, which look great on your CV. We have a long list of past students who have won industry awards whilst studying here.

The team is looking forward to welcoming you to Middlesex! With our placement programme, state-of-the art facilities and dedicated team, we’re excited to see you develop into a professional, ready to take on the Film and TV industry.
