Studying Mathematics

What to look forward to

We teach a combination of traditional maths, as well as workshops and lab study so that you can apply what you learn in your future career.

You’ll have the opportunity to take those skills to the real world by joining our staff in different outreach events, like SMASHFest which aims to create an immersive experience and increase diversity in STEM through collaborating on a range of different projects that provide practical solutions to disaster scenarios.

  • Flexible learning that benefits you

From year one, you will be loaned an iPad that will support your learning in your time with us at Middlesex. We believe it’s vital that you are able to interact and collaborate effectively both on-campus and online to maximise your learning and can use the best technology available to do so.

  • Innovative teaching enhanced by technology

Our programmes have recently been relaunched with further integration of technology with our teaching and learning in mind, which means you’ll benefit from the most up-to-date methods of education to prepare you for your future career. Combining this with our excellent academics who will guide and support you throughout the three years, makes Middlesex a great place to study.

We equip our students with all the problem-solving skills they need, teach modern programming languages and tailor exams and assessments so that you can display your skills and knowledge to the very best of your ability. You will have the opportunity to submit your assessment work in a way which works best for you, such as writing a report or making a video commentary.

Support for your successful career in Mathematics

Not only do we teach programming languages that are in high demand by employers but we also teach other modules that bring out skills which are highly sought after in the work place and across many other sectors. Our dedicated Problem Solving and Communication module trains you to think correctly about problems, to formulate successful strategies to solve them and to communicate solutions to others, from professional mathematicians to public communication.

Your learning is also broadened through optional placements, where you can gain practical workplace experience, and optional modules, where you can tailor your studies to your specific interests and goals.

Alongside all of this, our academics are experts in their field and are always on hand to give you the support and guidance you need whilst studying at Middlesex, sharing their extensive knowledge and experience to aid your career.

When you enroll at Middlesex, you’ll become part of an inclusive and diverse community that provides an exciting future for STEM. Want to find out more about what it’s like to be part of this community Chat to one of our friendly course ambassadors on Unibuddy.
