You’ll learn through a combination of theory-based courses and workshops which encourage you to work collaboratively with your classmates through case study analysis, class discussions, and creative projects like portfolios or product pitches.
Our approach is very hands-on and each year of your studies you’ll get to attend field-trips across the country (or even abroad!) and work on group projects on real-world issues with our industry partners.
You’ll get the chance to explore projects that make a real impact, just like our second-year students who travelled to Gran Canaria to work with the tourism board in the city and chat about how to make real change in tourism management.
Our second-year students on a field trip in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Our teaching and learning approach is evidence-based and designed using feedback from students and staff during recent years.
For example, our students have particularly liked our guest lecture series, in which professionals from the tourism and hospitality sector from around the world visited the virtual classroom to answer questions and talk about the future of the industry.
One of the unique aspects of our tourism programmes is our dedicated careers support team.
Our Employability Champions work with you on an individual basis to plan your career ambitions, prepare for interviews, and even connect you with important industry contacts. You can also study on an optional module in your third year dedicated to preparing you for your career after graduation.
Our courses will give you the knowledge and expertise to work in a variety of industries and we’ll support you in tailoring your degree plan to your specific ambitions. Our graduates have gone on to work for companies like Marriot, Eurostar, Thomas Cook, and city tourism boards.
Tourism as an industry naturally provides a wealth of opportunities for you to either study or work around the world.
At Middlesex we aim to ensure that your experiences are truly unique, which is made possible in a variety of ways.
Our partnerships with several universities and employers around the world include China, Greece and Spain. These partnerships allow you to spend up to you a year studying or working abroad.
Depending on your choice of programme and modules, there may be an option for you to study at our Middlesex Dubai campus.
