What to look forward to

At Middlesex, our teaching is personalised to ensure you get a tailored experience to help you develop your creative identity. Unlike other institutions, our class sizes are kept small so that you get the maximum contact time with our expert tutors and facilities.

You will spend the majority of your time in the studio alongside a close-knit community of students, emulating the studio working environment in the creative industries.

  • Reach your full creative potential in our industry-standard facilities

You’ll have our state-of-the-art facilities at your fingertips to help develop your own identity and produce your best possible work

We provide a vibrant learning experience within our course specific studio and you’ll be assigned an individual space for all three years.

Our workshop facilities are some of the best in the country with extensive access to print processes such as etching, lithography, silkscreen, lino and monoprint. We also have a letterpress workshop and digital and traditional photographic studios and darkrooms.

  • Hands on learning and collaboration

For October 2022, the majority of teaching will take place on campus meaning you have maximum access our excellent facilities and our specialist illustration studio. There will also be online activities in your timetable where that extra flexibility benefits you. Based on feedback from previous students, more theoretical learning will be online, meaning teaching will be fully virtual one day a week.

You will have open access to the Illustration studio every day so you can experience what it’s like to be in a vibrant creative community and to get a feel for a creative industry working environment.

We will also have life drawing classes in our studios; a fantastic opportunity for you to work with live models in person and express your ideas using our facilities.

Innovative teaching from experienced practitioners and academics

We take a very personal approach to your learning, meaning you will receive plenty of support from your tutors – something previous students have been very positive about.
