Meet Our Grads: Education

When you study for an education degree at Middlesex, you join a community of outstanding graduates having a huge impact across the world. Our alumni go on to shape the world in and outside classrooms and are proactive in making the world a fairer, healthier and more sustainable place.

We understand you not only want to make the most of your time at university but are also looking beyond. Our education courses are geared towards employability and helping you achieve your career goals, whatever they are. Our academic staff are a mix of highly respected researchers, experienced teachers and industry professionals.

Whatever career path you choose to take, you’ll learn from the absolute best in the area who continue to bring their unique expertise to the classroom. You’ll see this expertise come to life in modules throughout your three years. Whether that’s analysing the benefits or arguments against cross-curricular teaching or building knowledge on teaching in relation to Special Needs and Disabilities (SEND), you’ll come out of your degree with the specialist knowledge you need.

Meet our alumni

Read about some of the aspirational individuals who have turned their career goals into reality since graduating from Middlesex.

Alex Pepe: Teacher, Coleridge Primary School

Course studied: Primary Education BA

Alex was able to take many of the things he learned at Middlesex and apply it straight after he graduated. He made use of the support available outside of standard tutorial hours, such as help with his CV, interview preparation and general guidance from tutors, which he says played a major part in helping him get to where he is professionally.

Polly Aktar: School Teacher

Course studied: Early Childhood Studies BA

Polly always knew she wanted to work with children and has since graduating pursued a career as a primary school teacher. She says:

“The Early Childhood Studies BA course has introduced me to ideas and practices from various disciplines. The course also enabled me to take part in a nursery-based placement and I enjoyed every minute of it! The course has made my desire to become a teacher even stronger and I've already been recommending Middlesex University to others.”

Katherine Kelly: KS2 Class Teacher

Course studied: Primary Education BA

Katherine studied Primary Education BA and worked alongside trainee teachers from Middlesex. She says:

“I was really impressed with the structure of the course and the amount of contact time. I really enjoyed the relationships we had with our lecturers and I personally credit the interest that the lecturers took in ensuring that we graduated as successful teachers as a contributing factor to the success of the cohort.”

At Middlesex, we understand the importance of career support for life beyond university. That is why our award-winning career support service, MDX Works, is on hand to help you during and after your studies (for life).
