Darryl Coulson was part of The Creative Academy Hub, backed by Middlesex, helping underrepresented individuals break into the creative industries. Here, Darryl met with the Mayor Sadiq Khan and talked about how he has benefited massively from a work experience placement through his Film course. He’s now worked for both Netflix and Warner Bros. Studios.
Shakeelah Archibald studied Film BA at Middlesex and has since been working on sets in Drama Productions for Apple TV and Netflix. She was able to secure a bursary towards driving lessons, a key skill if you want to work as a crew member on scripted production, but often difficult to afford when you are starting out in your first crew positions. Shakeelah is now working on Disney Production in her dream job as an Art Department trainee.
Kristyna Bustova also studied Film at Middlesex and has worked as a freelance Set Production Assistant, Production Secretary on a Netflix production and Project Manager in London. Kristyna is currently Assistant to Producers for NBCUniversal in Prague.
Frankie Checkly studied Film BA and now has a long list of popular TV shows on her resume. She was a producer on Traitors, Squid Game the Challenge, Queen of the Universe and C4’sThe Circle. Frankie works for one of the UK’s biggest production companies, Studio Lambert.
James Knight is a highly skilled Digital Imaging Technician in London, known for his work on prestigious Film and TV projects for major studios like Marvel, Disney, Universal and Sony Entertainment. He has also collaborated with many renowned artists. James holds a First-class BA in Film from Middlesex.
